For decades, A1 Port-Louis has been part of the Mauritian retail market.
In 1984, ‘Quincaillerie A1 Port-Louis’ was established, marking an important milestone in the development of the business.
Another significant chapter followed in 2009, with the completion of A1 Ceramic Centre building on 78 Royal Road, Port-Louis – which became an important hub for the company’s operations
Over the years, A1 continued to expand its product range, develop relationships with suppliers from different countries and build a growing network of customers across both retail and wholesale markets.
A1 has evolved from a traditional hardware shop into a one-stop destination for homes, businesses, tradespeople and construction professionals.
Our aim is simple: to make it easier for our customers to find the products they need, all in one place.
From everyday home needs, repairs and DIY projects to larger construction, renovation and commercial requirements, A1 is here to support projects of every size.

At A1, we believe that a great hardware store is about more than simply selling products.
It is about offering customers the right products, at the right value, while providing a service they can rely on.
Our approach is built around three key principles:
We work with suppliers and brands to provide products that meet the needs of homeowners, professionals, tradespeople and businesses.
We continuously work to offer products at competitive prices, helping our customers get the best possible value for their projects.
Our team is available to help customers find suitable products and solutions for their individual requirements.
Every project is different. That is why we continue to develop our range to meet the changing needs of our customers.
Whether you are a homeowner completing a DIY project, a contractor working on a construction site, a business upgrading its premises or a professional looking for specialist equipment, A1 offers a broad selection of products to help you get the job done.
Our range brings together practical hardware, tools, construction products, home improvement solutions, décor, furniture and professional equipment in one convenient destination.
Contractors, builders and business owners rely on A1 for building materials, electrical supplies, plumbing and commercial equipment. Tell us what your project needs and we’ll help you source it.
